Modification of the Exposure Meter of Canon and Nizo Super-8 Cameras

The modification allows you to use the light meter without a mercury or its substitute battery. A voltage regulator circuit is installed inside the camera and the AA sized main batteries supplies power to the circuit. A special light meter battery is no longer needed.

The modification is suitable for Canon Auto Zoom 814 and the so-called silver coloured Nizo cameras. Those cameras use a 2.7 V battery for the light meter. This modification cannot replace a 1.35 V cell.
